Washington, D.C.  James O’Keefe, founder of Project Veritas today released the fifth in a series of undercover investigations into Medicaid fraud.  Citizen journalists have uncovered widespread Medicaid fraud in state offices across the country.

In the latest video, an undercover reporter attempts to apply for benefits Medicaid offices in Biddeford and Portland, Maine.

The reporter identifies himself as “Ted Ceanneidigh” (Ted Kennedy) and says his family has a  pharmaceutical and fishing business and he talks about his Corvette.  He also says that his assets are in cash and precious metals.  Precious metals, he says, are less traceable.  The Medicaid case worker coaches him by saying, “If you can’t prove income, you don’t have income.”  She also says “Don’t say anything about your Corvette.”

“In this time of economic uncertainty, when the country is in danger of defaulting on its debt, the American people deserve to know how their tax dollars are being wasted.” said James O’Keefe. “As Project Veritas has shown, this is not an isolated incident.  Government workers willing to aid people with criminal backgrounds and great wealth should be an outrage to every American.  The integrity of the entire Medicaid system has been called into question.  Certainly, the Indiana Attorney General should open an investigation. Similar undercover investigations have spurred investigations by the Attorney General’s office in Virginia, Ohio and South Carolina.  The Ohio Department of Jobs and Family services has mandated retraining for its workers, incorporating the Project Veritas video.
