RETRACTION #307 - Dave Weigel, Slate

While at Slate in 2013, Washington Post’s Dave Weigel claimed that Project Veritas taped ACORN’s Juan Carlos Vera “without consent,” and that Vera was “portrayed untruthfully.” Vera was taped without consent, but it is false that he was portrayed untruthfully. Project Veritas’ lawyers reached out to Slate for a retraction, which was attained in January 2020. This lie about Project Veritas had been cited on Wikipedia and circularly sourced by other “journalists” who wanted to defame our work.
