One week following the release of Project Veritas’s undercover investigation into the Yonkers teachers union, News 12 reported that Brendan McGrath, the Yonkers Inspector General launched an investigation into the Yonkers Federation of Teachers.
In a report addressed to Mayor Mike Spano which was released today, the IG recommended the immediate termination of Yonkers Federation of Teachers President Patricia Puleo and Executive Vice President Paul Diamond.
The Inspector General conducted a thorough investigation of the union officials caught on camera, along with Project Veritas’ raw footage.
“Upon request, Project Veritas permitted the IG, an investigator, and an attorney representing the Yonkers Public Schools to view the unedited video in its entirety at their facility,” stated the report. “Upon viewing the video, it is clear that no liberties were taken from a contextual perspective.”
“The Yonkers IG investigation is a victory for students in Yonkers which will hopefully resonate throughout the country,” said Project Veritas President James O’Keefe. “A Democratic administration in Yonkers investigated the raw footage and determined there were no edits which changed the context of the video. This type of bipartisanship helped to spotlight the corruption and abuse that students could potentially face as a result of elaborate union cover-ups. It’s also nice to see elected Democrats in Yonkers conclude that we do not deceptively edit our tapes.”
The American Federation of Teachers has also hired a firm to investigate these two union officials.
